Andy Murray celebrated a decade of marriage with his wife, Kim Sears, in a touching Instagram post on April 11, 2025. The former world No. 1 shared a photo from a recent ski trip and reflected on their journey together.
“10 years of marriage ❤️ 4 kids 👧👧👦👧 And 2 skiing holidays ⛷️ later. Still smiling 😀 (albeit through slightly gritted teeth 😬),” Murray wrote in the caption.
Their Love Story: From US Open Encounter to Family Life
Murray and Sears first crossed paths at a party during the 2005 US Open. They went public with their relationship in 2006 after Andy famously ran into the crowd to kiss Kim following his SAP Open win in California. Though they briefly broke up in 2009, they reunited and married in 2015. Today, they share four children.
Andy Praises Kim’s Strength and Support
In a recent interview with the ATP Tour, Murray expressed admiration for Kim’s unwavering support, especially in raising their children while he pursued a demanding tennis career.
“She’s been amazing,” Murray noted. “Raising four kids while I’ve been on the road, I honestly don’t know how she does it.”
Kim Sears on the Stress of Watching Andy Compete
Kim Sears, who tends to keep a low public profile, opened up about how stressful it was watching Andy compete—especially as a mother of four. Her rare interview was featured in a tribute video shared by the LTA following Murray’s retirement.
“I really struggle now to watch Andy play… I find it unbelievably stressful. I’ve never known anyone rise to a challenge like he does,” she said.
“I think he is at home when his back’s against the wall and he’s having to scrap for things. I just feel sick when he plays, to be honest. It’s a truly unpleasant feeling,” she added.

Andy Murray ended his decorated tennis career after competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Though he didn’t advance past the quarterfinals in men’s doubles, his retirement was met with heartfelt tributes.
