Camila Giorgi Confirms New Relationship and Announces She’s Done With Tennis for Good

Former Italian tennis star Camila Giorgi has officially introduced her new boyfriend to fans — Argentine politician Ramiro Marra.

During a Q&A session on Instagram, Giorgi revealed that her relationship with American entrepreneur David Holiner had ended, and that she’s now in love with Marra. Describing their meeting as “love at first sight,” Giorgi also made it clear that she’s moved on from her tennis career permanently.

“I’m not leaving Argentina anymore. I met my boyfriend in his office, and it was love at first sight,” Giorgi shared. “Will I ever return to tennis? Never. When I close a door, I never open it again.”

In a previous interview on the Italian talk show Verissimo, the 2021 Rogers Cup champion opened up about her decision to retire, explaining that the life of a professional athlete had become too demanding.

“I’ve wanted to quit for years,” she said. “Being a tennis player is tough. One morning in May, I told my father I was done, and he was happy for me. He’s always been supportive — not the controlling type people assume.”

Addressing rumors that she left Italy due to financial or legal troubles, Giorgi firmly denied them, clarifying that her father had no role in any alleged issues.

“I didn’t disappear — I had informed the WTA about my retirement plans. The misunderstanding started when the doping test list came out. I simply wanted a new life. I’ve lived in both Italy and the U.S., but this time, I made a final decision,” she explained.

The former player emphasized that her move abroad wasn’t an escape, but rather a fresh start after years of dedication to tennis.

“The problems were caused by people who managed my finances, not my family. My father was only ever my coach,” she concluded.

With her tennis career now behind her, Camila Giorgi seems focused on her new chapter in Argentina — both in
love and in life.
