PGA Tour winner Michael Brennan couldn’t hide his admiration for Charley Hull after their strong showing at the 2025 Grant Thornton Invitational, calling the LPGA star a “baller” following the final round.
Brennan and Hull signed off with a seven-under-par 65 on Sunday, December 14, finishing the tournament at 25-under overall. Their impressive performance earned them a share of second place, just three shots behind the eventual winners.
Speaking after the round, the 23-year-old Brennan admitted he didn’t have his sharpest day but made it clear Hull was the driving force behind their success.
“Charley’s a baller,” Brennan said. “I didn’t really have my best stuff today — my irons were pretty loose — but she basically carried us and kept us in it. It was really impressive to watch.”
Hull was equally complimentary of her partner, praising both his game and the experience of playing together.
“I loved playing with Michael,” Hull said. “He’s got a great game and it was just so much fun. We both agreed this was probably one of the most enjoyable weeks of the year. We gave it everything on the last hole, and overall it was just an amazing week.”
The 2025 Grant Thornton Invitational featured a total prize purse of $4 million. Hull and Brennan walked away with $380,000 for their joint second-place finish. The tournament title — and the $1 million winner’s check — went to Lauren Coughlin and Andrew Novak.
