WATCH: Camila Giorgi rocks stunning red dress to welcome Christmas, treats fans with special dessert-making tutorial

Camila Giorgi welcomed the Christmas season in style, sharing a festive moment with her fans that had nothing to do with tennis. The former Italian tennis star appeared in a striking red outfit as she posted a cozy Christmas Eve video on Instagram, where she walked followers through the process of making a strawberry and blueberry roll.
Earlier this year, Giorgi surprised many by stepping away from professional tennis.

Since then, she has been spending more time exploring her personal interests and connecting with fans online. With more than 720,000 followers on Instagram, she frequently gives glimpses into her post-tennis life, including fashion shoots, lifestyle moments, and now, holiday cooking.

To mark the festive season, the 32-year-old dressed in a red gown, matching gloves, and a Santa hat while preparing the dessert in her own kitchen. Sharing the video, she wrote that she was almost cooking with her fans on Christmas Eve and invited them to enjoy the sweet treat alongside her.

Giorgi’s retirement earlier this year sparked widespread speculation. Some reports suggested legal or tax-related issues, while others claimed she had left tennis to focus on modeling. Those rumors gained traction after the International Tennis Integrity Agency officially listed her as retired on May 7, 2024.

The former World No. 26 later addressed the situation directly, shutting down the speculation with a personal announcement on Instagram. She made it clear that the circulating claims about her departure from tennis were inaccurate.

Speaking on the Italian television show Verissimo, Giorgi revealed that retirement had been on her mind for years. She explained that the constant travel and physical demands of the sport had taken a toll, and one morning in May, she simply decided it was time to stop. Her family, especially her father, supported the decision fully.
She also pushed back against the idea that her father controlled her career, describing him instead as understanding and always supportive of her choices.

Now retired, Giorgi says she is content with her life away from the professional circuit. While she still enjoys playing tennis casually, she has no desire to return to the grind of weekly travel and competition. Her final professional appearance came at the Miami Open, where she lost to Iga Swiatek in the second round.

Reflecting on her decision, Giorgi admitted she had planned to announce her retirement formally, but events moved faster than expected once the news became public. Still, she remains at peace with her choice, saying that chapter of her life is now firmly closed.
