Jordan Spieth makes honest admission to wife after watching Ludvig Aberg win

Jordan Spieth had high praise for Ludvig Aberg following his impressive victory at the Genesis Invitational. However, the three-time major champion humorously admitted he would prefer not to be paired with the Swedish star anytime soon. Aberg, who outperformed Spieth at Torrey Pines, showcased his talent by closing out the tournament with a four-under finish in his last six holes, securing a one-stroke victory.

Reflecting on their recent rounds together, Spieth joked about his struggles when playing alongside Aberg, recalling his missed cut at The Masters while Aberg finished runner-up. Speaking on *The Smylie Show*, Spieth acknowledged Aberg’s skill but suggested he might try to avoid future pairings with him. “As much as I enjoy playing with him, I might stay away from that pairing for a little while,” Spieth quipped, noting his own lack of success in those matchups.

Spieth was so impressed with Aberg’s performance that he shared his thoughts with his wife, Annie, after the first round. “He’s as impressive as I’ve seen in a long time,” Spieth said, predicting more wins for Aberg this season. The Genesis Invitational was Spieth’s third consecutive tournament as he continues his comeback from wrist surgery. Despite missing the cut at Torrey Pines, his recent top-five finish at the WM Phoenix Open signals positive momentum for the rest of the season.
