“I Really Don’t Know,” ATP Legend Breaks Silence on Emma Raducanu’s Recent Coaching Collaboration With Andy Murray’s Former Coach Mark Petchey

Emma Raducanu’s impressive Miami Open run has sparked renewed optimism about her career trajectory. After defeating strong opponents to reach her first WTA 1000 quarterfinal, her resurgence is being credited to working again with coach Mark Petchey, Andy Murray’s former mentor.

Tim Henman praised the pairing, calling Petchey a “familiar face” for Raducanu. The two have history, having worked together before her 2021 US Open triumph. Though optimistic, Henman admitted uncertainty about Petchey’s long-term involvement due to his broadcasting commitments.

Raducanu’s Miami quarterfinal loss to Jessica Pegula was hard-fought. A second-set lead slipped away following a medical timeout, which she later attributed to heat and dizziness. Still, she left Miami feeling proud and motivated for the season ahead.

With the clay season looming, Raducanu has withdrawn from the Billie Jean King Cup to focus on training. Her decision, supported by Team GB’s captain, signals a strategic reset as she aims to return stronger ahead of the French Open.
