Lexi Thompson, semi-retired in 2025, is now 2 for 2 in cuts made so far this LPGA season

Lexi Thompson, though semi-retired in 2025, continues to showcase elite performance on the LPGA Tour. After announcing her scaled-back schedule, she opened her season with a top-10 finish at the Founders Cup, signaling her enduring competitiveness.

At the Ford Championship, Thompson initially struggled but finished strong, rallying with three birdies late in her first round. A final score of 2-over 74 set the stage for an impressive comeback the next day in Chandler, Arizona.

Her Friday round was electric—an eagle and four birdies led to a front-nine 30. She finished with a 66, making the cut at 4-under overall. Brother Curtis continues to support her as caddie this season.

Thompson has now qualified for the U.S. Women’s Open and plans to compete in two majors. With two starts and two cuts made, her semi-retirement looks more like a strategic evolution than a farewell.
