Emma Raducanu felt ‘exposed’ by Iga Swiatek in French Open thrashing Raducanu lost to defending champion Swiatek

Emma Raducanu admitted she felt “exposed” after a heavy 6-1, 6-2 defeat to Iga Swiatek at the French Open. The defending champion extended her head-to-head dominance to 5-0, showcasing her clay-court prowess once again.

Raducanu struggled to match Swiatek’s consistency and experience on Court Philippe-Chatrier. The Briton acknowledged gaps in her clay game and said the big-stage atmosphere added to her discomfort during the second-round clash.

Despite trying an aggressive approach, Raducanu couldn’t convert key chances, winning only 35% of points on her second serve. Swiatek’s superior shot placement and heavy top-spin gave her full control of the match.

Still, Raducanu remains optimistic about her progress this season. She said the clay swing helped her build momentum and hopes to carry those improvements into the grass-court season ahead of Wimbledon.
