J.J. Spaun, the 2025 U.S. Open winner, is married to Melody Spaun. The couple tied the knot in 2019 after meeting in Orange County in 2013. Melody was seen proudly cheering at Oakmont during his historic victory.
Before winning at Oakmont, Spaun secured his first PGA Tour win at the 2022 Valero Texas Open. Melody, a California native unfamiliar with golf at first, was introduced to the sport through Spaun, who took her mini-golfing on their first date.
Despite calling their golf date “lame,” Melody supported J.J.’s career deeply. She eventually set a five-hour daily practice limit to help him balance golf and family life. The couple shares two children, Emerson and Violet.
Melody maintains a low social profile, with a private Instagram and little known about her career. However, she has stood firmly beside Spaun through his journey—from the 2016 Web.com Tour to his U.S. Open triumph in 2025.
