Michael Greller, caddie for Jordan Spieth, has celebrated many iconic golf moments, including Spieth’s 2015 U.S. Open win. Yet, he now calls his brother Tom’s U.S. Senior Open qualification “the greatest accomplishment” in the Greller family’s sports history.
At 53, Tom Greller earned his way into the 45th U.S. Senior Open at The Broadmoor’s East Course, overcoming two qualifiers, including a playoff in Oregon. It marked the first time he broke through after over two decades of trying to reach a USGA championship.
Tom’s son Ray, a college golfer, will serve as his caddie, while his younger son Luke and wife Tabitha will be cheering from the sidelines. Michael isn’t looping but helped secure a practice round with legends Ernie Els and Bernhard Langer.
When Tom qualified, Michael was caddying for Spieth during a practice round with Rickie Fowler, who sent a playful video congratulating Tom. Should Tom win and earn a U.S. Open spot, Michael may face a tough choice: Spieth or his brother?
