Maria Sharapova made a fiery appearance on the popular YouTube show “Hot Ones”, answering tough questions while enduring increasingly intense hot sauces. The tennis icon was reduced to tears after tasting the infamous “Da Bomb” sauce.
Sharapova, a five-time Major champion, stayed composed through the early rounds. However, the moment she tried Da Bomb—known for its 135,000+ Scoville rating—her poise crumbled, and emotions poured out, to the amusement of fans and host Sean Evans.
Between laughs and tears, Sharapova admitted, “The tears are coming. Oh s\*\*t, wow… In my eye,” showcasing a rare, vulnerable side as she bravely powered through the remaining sauces in the challenge.
Despite the heat, she praised the show’s concept, calling it a vulnerable experience. “I hate you, but I’m loving this,” she told Evans, noting that she rarely cries with makeup on—something the show unintentionally delivered.
During the episode, Sharapova also responded to light-hearted tennis-related questions. When asked about doubles preferences, she joked, “What the f**k is a cherry-picker?”—mixing humor with genuine confusion under spice-induced pressure.
Sharapova isn’t the only tennis legend to face the Hot Ones heat. Serena Williams also appeared in a previous episode, proving that even champions can be humbled by spicy wings and clever questions.
