Andy Murray shares valuable relationship advice during an interaction with fans, highlighting the importance of helping with household chores to maintain a healthy partnership.
Andy Murray recently engaged with tennis fans at the official opening of the center court at London’s Queen’s Club, which now bears his name — the Andy Murray Arena. During this event, a fan asked the former world No. 1 for some relationship advice. Murray responded with a useful tip for men on keeping long-term relationships strong with their female partners.
During the three-time Major champion’s one-on-one fan interaction, a woman said:
“So I’m moving in with my boyfriend.”
Andy replied:
“Right. Are we excited about that?”
The fan enthusiastically said yes and asked:
“Very excited. Top tip for a long and healthy relationship?”
Murray, speaking from a “man’s perspective,” advised that regularly helping with household chores can greatly strengthen a relationship.
“I’m saying this from the man’s perspective, is that I found that, and maybe you could tell him this. Helping out with little things, like putting the dishes away, putting the dishwasher on, goes a very long way,” Murray said.
The now-retired tennis star continues to enjoy a strong relationship with his wife Kim Sears. The couple started dating in 2005 and married a decade later. They have four children: daughters Sophia, Edie, and Lola, and son Teddy.
Murray has often spoken about how important Kim’s support was throughout his tennis career. For example, in early 2024, months before his retirement, Murray paid a heartfelt tribute to Kim on International Women’s Day.
“She’s been one unbelievable support” — Andy Murray on wife Kim during International Women’s Day 2024
On March 8, 2024, the ATP Tour shared a video for International Women’s Day featuring stars naming women who played key roles in their lives. Murray chose his wife Kim Sears, saying:
“I am going to go with my wife Kim. She’s been, well, one unbelievable support throughout my whole career, particularly these last few years which have been pretty challenging for me and also bringing up four kids.”
Earlier in 2025, Murray sent a heartfelt yet humorous message to Kim on their 10th wedding anniversary.
