Serena Williams playfully second-guesses her career choices after being wowed by professional Pillow Fight Championship match

Tennis icon Serena Williams recently stumbled upon a sport she had never seen before—the Pillow Fight Championship—and couldn’t help but poke fun at herself for not trying it out as a career.

The 23-time Grand Slam winner shared a video on her Instagram story showing two athletes going head-to-head in a ring, swinging specially designed pillows at each other in a fully professional setup. Clearly entertained, Williams joked, “How have I not been a pillow fighter? Look at this. This is amazing. Wow. Wow. Wow.”

The Pillow Fight Championship (PFC) has been gaining attention in recent years, combining agility, defense, and strategy with what many would consider a childhood pastime.

Serena Staying Fit Post-Retirement

Williams, who welcomed her second daughter, Adira River Ohanian, with husband Alexis Ohanian in August 2023, continues to prioritize fitness even after stepping away from professional tennis. In an interview with Women’s Health earlier this year, she explained that fitness remains central to her lifestyle:
“Fitness will always be a part of my life. My whole life has been fitness, so it’s weird now that I’m not necessarily playing professional sport. But living a healthy life is so important for me.”

Although some fans still speculate about a possible comeback, Williams has been officially retired since 2022. A recent Instagram clip titled “Still Serena” showed her practicing tennis, sparking excitement, but there’s no confirmation of a return to competition.

Meanwhile, her sister Venus Williams recently came back to the court at the 2025 DC Open after more than a year away. She also played at the Cincinnati Open but exited in the first round. Venus is now preparing to team up with Reilly Opelka for the mixed doubles event at the upcoming US Open.
