PGA Tour star Jordan Spieth shocks legendary commentator

Jordan Spieth has revealed the painful journey that led to his long-overdue wrist surgery. The PGA Tour star initially injured his wrist in 2017 but avoided surgery due to career-threatening risks. However, in May 2023, a sudden “pop” while playing with his son worsened the condition.

Throughout the 2024 season, Spieth struggled with the injury, repeatedly experiencing his tendon slipping out of place. The breaking point came at The Open at Royal Troon when his tendon popped just before his final tee shot. Realizing he could no longer compete at his best, he opted for surgery after the FedEx Cup playoffs.

Following surgery, Spieth gradually regained strength, first gripping a putter after eight weeks and later resuming short-game practice. By December, he noticed significant improvement, feeling no pain after a well-struck 6-iron. Though eager to return earlier, he postponed his comeback to the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Looking ahead, Spieth hopes to compete pain-free over the next three weeks and secure at least one PGA Tour victory before the 2025 Masters. His ultimate goal is to make the U.S. Ryder Cup team, acknowledging the challenge of earning enough points against tough American competition.
