Nelly Korda Needs to Fix One Glaring Issue Threatening Her 2025 Season – Report

Nelly Korda dominated the LPGA in 2024, collecting seven titles and reaffirming her place among golf’s elite. Naturally, expectations soared heading into 2025. Yet, despite making every cut this season, the 26-year-old is still chasing her first victory of the year. With several near-misses piling up, analysts are beginning to pinpoint one glaring flaw that might be holding her back.

On the No Laying Up podcast, analysts Randy, Cody, and Jordan broke down Korda’s performance. Randy immediately addressed the uncomfortable truth: Korda’s winless streak. Just a year ago, the thought of her failing to win while 23 other players collected titles would have been unthinkable. But now, it’s her reality.

Statistically, the drop-off is clear. In 2024, she had 10 cuts made, eight top-10s, and seven top-five finishes. This year, those numbers have slipped to five top-10s, four top-fives, and two runner-ups. While her putting numbers remain nearly identical, her greens-in-regulation percentage has dipped from 76% (third on tour) to 73% (16th). But Randy highlighted the most troubling trend: her final-round scoring average.

Korda’s Sunday average has risen from 69.58 to 71.27, nearly two strokes worse. The pattern has shown up repeatedly—at the Founders Cup, the Amundi Evian Championship, and the Women’s Scottish Open—where strong starts unraveled in the last round. Pressure on Sundays appears to be taking a mental toll.

Randy summed it up: “She just hasn’t been able to play Sundays as well as she did last year—and that’s why the wins aren’t coming.” For someone known for thriving in big moments, the struggles are particularly concerning.

At the CPKC Women’s Open in Mississauga, Canada, Korda is once again chasing her breakthrough. She opened with a solid 2-under 69 and followed with another steady round, showing sharp iron play and smooth driving. Commentators praised her rhythm and distance control, noting how composed she looked despite challenging conditions.

Still, the question lingers: can Korda shake off her Sunday jitters, or will the same pattern play out once again? With two rounds left in Mississauga, fans are waiting to see if she can finally rewrite her 2025 story.
