The Best of 2019: Paige Embraces Body Positivity

On or off the golf course, Paige Spiranac has always captured attention. So when her photo gallery and essay on body confidence were released, it quickly went viral, drawing clicks, shares, and even international media coverage. Outlets as far away as Australia picked it up, and Barstool Sports praised her for her openness.

From her 2018 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit feature to the unveiling of her Myrtle Beach seaside photo gallery, Paige’s outlook on appearing in swimwear has transformed. She shared those thoughts candidly.

Paige admits that, despite her love for Myrtle Beach golf trips, she was hesitant when asked to highlight its beaches. Like many people, she once felt uneasy about being photographed in a swimsuit. The fear of judgment—whether too heavy, too thin, or wearing something too revealing—often overshadowed her enjoyment.

Her turning point came with Sports Illustrated, where a supportive team helped her embrace the experience. That moment taught her a vital lesson: confidence comes from within. Negative comments only have power if you allow them to.

Paige now chooses to celebrate her body and life experiences without shame. She encourages others to do the same—reminding us that our worth goes beyond appearance, yet our bodies, in every form, deserve pride and appreciation.

As she put it, “The human body is beautiful in all shapes, sizes, and colors. Why should we hide it?”

With that mindset, Paige refuses to let criticism stop her from enjoying the beach or sharing those moments with the world. She hopes 2019 inspires more people to focus on kindness, encouragement, and living fully—preferably with their faces turned toward the sun.
