Maria Sharapova may have fallen short at Wimbledon this year, but she was winning in style during her holiday in Montenegro. The 38-year-old Russian tennis star turned heads on King Beach at St. Stephens Island as she relaxed in a dark maroon bikini, showing off her toned figure and athletic build.
The world No. 2 soaked up the sun alongside a friend, stretching out on a lounger and taking dips in the Adriatic Sea. At times she pulled down her shoulder straps to even out her tan, while a wide-brimmed hat shielded her face from the blazing sun.
Sharapova looked completely at ease, unwinding just a week after her Wimbledon semifinal defeat to long-time rival Serena Williams. Between applying sunscreen, sipping on drinks, and snapping photos of her companion, she still found time to update fans on Instagram. One playful post to her 545,000 followers simply read “#Mood!!!” alongside a cheeky selfie.
Despite enjoying the beach day, her boyfriend, fellow tennis pro Grigor Dimitrov, was noticeably absent from the trip. Still, Sharapova seemed in high spirits, embracing her downtime and proving that while she may not have taken home the Wimbledon trophy, she’s still a star off the court.
