Lindsey Vonn, 40, recently posted a series of unfiltered bikini photos on Instagram, accompanied by a heartfelt message promoting body positivity. In her post, she addressed the hurtful comments she often receives online about her appearance and shared how she handles the pressure.
“I’ve shared quite a few swimsuit photos recently, which is more nerve-wracking than it seems,” Lindsey admitted. “Even as an athlete, there are harsh comments and media stories criticizing my body, and yes, it can hurt. I’m just human—sometimes I slouch, my stomach folds, cellulite shows, or my swimsuit top doesn’t fit perfectly. But I always remember what my body has helped me achieve, and I’m proud of its strength.”
The Instagram carousel included Lindsey in natural, relaxed poses, with one slide highlighting some of the cruel comments from internet trolls. Despite this negativity, Lindsey emphasized self-acceptance and authenticity.
“I’m not a size zero, and that’s perfectly fine with me,” she wrote. “I’ve never Photoshopped a photo and I’ve never had any plastic surgery—no Botox, fillers, or minor procedures. I am 100% natural, 100% Lindsey. To anyone feeling insecure, stay strong, stay healthy, and love yourself regardless of what others say. Thank you to everyone who has been supportive—let’s keep promoting body positivity!”
Lindsey’s post serves as a reminder that even elite athletes face scrutiny, but embracing one’s natural self can inspire others to do the same.
