Camila Giorgi once again captured the attention of her followers on Instagram, this time with a stylish new outfit. While in Paris for Roland Garros, the Italian tennis star posted a mirror selfie showing off a light summer dress featuring a flowing skirt and low neckline. The fresh, eye-catching look immediately drew admiration from fans.
Off the court, Giorgi impressed on the clay as well. In her Roland Garros 2023 opener, she defeated French favorite Alizé Cornet, ranked 59th in the world. From the very first exchanges, Giorgi dictated the pace with her aggressive play, although her serve wasn’t at its best. Cornet struggled even more, racking up six double faults and failing to capitalize in key moments.
Despite a brief lapse in focus, Giorgi—winner of the 2021 Canada Open—closed out the match with confidence.
Speaking afterward, Giorgi reflected on her performance:
“It was a solid match. The start wasn’t easy because Cornet plays a very different style from mine, but once I found my rhythm, things worked out. In the second set I lost focus for a moment and got too defensive, but then I returned to my level. Playing here in Paris is always fantastic.”
She also noted that she is still working her way back to peak form:
“It’s a process, and it doesn’t happen overnight, but I feel improvements and my team is helping me get there.”
Giorgi, who reached the French Open round of 16 last year, will now take on Jessica Pegula, who advanced after a tough battle against Danielle Collins in an all-American clash.
