British tennis star Jack Draper has reportedly added Jamie Delgado — Andy Murray’s former coach — to his team in preparation for the 2026 season. The 23-year-old, currently the UK’s top-ranked male player, is sidelined for the rest of 2025 following an arm injury but hopes to return in time for the Australian Open in January.
Last month, Draper shared that he had played through intense pain during Wimbledon and was later unable to serve for nearly a month. He managed one singles win at the US Open before withdrawing due to bone bruising in his left arm. While surgery won’t be required, Draper has chosen to end his season early to focus on recovery and a strong comeback next year.
According to *The Times*, Delgado will accompany Draper on tour in 2026, working alongside current coach James Trotman — who plans to scale back his travel schedule. Delgado, a respected British coach, previously helped Murray achieve some of his greatest career moments, including the 2016 Wimbledon title and his ascent to world No. 1. Most recently, Delgado worked with Grigor Dimitrov before parting ways earlier this year.
Draper has already surrounded himself with familiar faces from Murray’s former support team, including fitness coach Matt Little and physiotherapist Shane Annun. Earlier this year, Draper reached his first ATP final on clay in Madrid and rose to a career-high ranking of world No. 4 — becoming the second left-handed player after Rafael Nadal to break into the top five this century. However, his recent injury setbacks forced early exits from both Roland Garros and Wimbledon, marking a challenging end to his breakout
season.
