Sir Andy Murray and his wife Kim have had to move parts of their growing art collection out of their Surrey home and into their luxury Cromlix hotel in Scotland.
The former tennis champion, 38, lives with Kim and their four children in a lavish Surrey estate, but his passion for collecting artwork has started to outgrow the available space.
Murray has amassed works from renowned artists including Damien Hirst and Maggie Hambling. According to Kim, many of these pieces are now being rotated into Cromlix so guests can enjoy them too. “Andy is constantly buying large-scale artwork and we’re running out of space at home,” she told Homes and Interiors Scotland. “Bringing them to Cromlix not only allows our guests to share in the collection, but also helps free up room at home.”
Murray’s fascination with art reportedly began six years ago when he sat for a portrait by Hambling. Since stepping away from professional tennis last year, he has embraced new hobbies, with golf becoming his latest passion.
Next month, he is set to compete in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland, where amateurs partner with top professionals in a £3.7 million event that draws Ryder Cup stars and former major winners.
