Sir Andy Murray is known for his fierce competitiveness on the tennis court, but his latest documentary gives fans a much softer side of the Wimbledon champion. In Andy Murray: Resurfacing, released on Amazon Prime Video, cameras follow the 32-year-old’s journey to recovery after battling chronic hip issues — and capture touching moments with his family at home in Surrey.

The intimate film features Murray dancing to “Baby Shark” with his daughters, Sophia and Edie, getting his hair brushed by one of them with a toy comb, and building a snowman in the garden with his wife, Kim. Viewers also see him enjoying scooter rides and quiet family time at their Oxshott mansion.

Shot over two years, the documentary not only chronicles Murray’s comeback from injury but also highlights how fatherhood has reshaped his life. His father, Will, appears in the film, noting that the combination of parenthood and hip surgery has made Andy “more relaxed” and “happier within himself.”
After undergoing a career-saving hip resurfacing surgery in January, Murray made a triumphant return to tennis at Queen’s Club in June, winning the doubles title alongside Feliciano Lopez.
The documentary also takes an emotional turn as Murray reflects on his childhood trauma from the 1996 Dunblane school tragedy. Too emotional to discuss it on camera, he instead records a tearful voice message, revealing how tennis became his emotional escape after that and his parents’ divorce.
Alongside appearances from his wife Kim, mother Judy, brother Jamie, and tennis legends Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray: Resurfacing paints a deeply human portrait of one of Britain’s greatest athletes — showing not just the champion, but the devoted husband, father, and survivor behind the titles.
