It has been just over months months since Andy Murray ended his tennis career at the Paris Olympics, but the two-time Wimbledon champion is already embarking on a new venture. Murray and his wife, Kim, have revealed plans to open a new 80-seat restaurant at their luxury five-star Cromlix Hotel in Perthshire, close to his hometown of Dunblane.
The restaurant will replace the current eatery, The Glasshouse, which will instead become a venue for afternoon teas and private functions.

The proposed expansion would see the new dining space form part of an extension to the Victorian mansion, offering guests sweeping views across the hotel’s landscaped lawns. In addition, the plans submitted to Stirling Council include creating four extra guest rooms, taking the total from 15 to 19. Other upgrades include converting areas for staff use and improving accessibility with a new suite.

Since purchasing Cromlix for nearly £2 million in 2013, Murray has hosted family celebrations there, including his own wedding in 2015. The award-winning hotel, set on 34 acres of woodland, features its own chapel, tennis court, and trout loch. Cromlix recently earned the title of Scotland’s best hotel at the AA Hospitality Awards, further cementing its reputation for luxury.

Speaking about life after tennis, Murray admitted he has been pleasantly surprised by how much he is enjoying retirement. He said stepping away from the sport has given him more freedom to spend time with his children, play golf, and enjoy personal time. Instead of missing the professional circuit, Murray described the change as “the complete opposite” of what he had expected.
