Camila Giorgi once again turned heads on Instagram, dazzling her followers with a chic new look. While in Paris for the Roland Garros tournament, the Italian tennis star shared a mirror selfie wearing a breezy summer dress with a flowing skirt and a subtle low neckline. The effortlessly elegant outfit quickly caught the attention of her fans, who flooded the comments with praise.
But Giorgi didn’t just impress with her style—she also delivered on the court. In her Roland Garros 2023 opener, she triumphed over French favorite Alizé Cornet, ranked 59th in the world. Giorgi’s trademark aggressive play set the tone early, putting Cornet on the defensive. Though Giorgi’s serve was inconsistent at times, Cornet struggled even more, committing six double faults and missing key opportunities to turn the match around.
After a brief dip in concentration, the 2021 Canada Open champion regained her rhythm and confidently sealed the victory. Reflecting on her performance, Giorgi said, “It was a solid match. The beginning was tricky because Cornet’s style is quite different from mine, but once I settled in, everything came together. I lost focus a bit in the second set, became too defensive, but managed to get back to my game. Playing in Paris is always special.”
The Italian also admitted that she’s still fine-tuning her form. “It’s a process—it takes time,” she added. “But I’m improving every day, and my team is supporting me through it.”
After reaching the round of 16 in last year’s French Open, Giorgi will now face Jessica Pegula, who advanced following a hard-fought victory over fellow American Danielle Collins.
