Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz has often been the subject of speculation regarding his love life, but the 22-year-old has finally shared some honest thoughts about dating while balancing a demanding career.
The world No. 2, who was recently knocked out of the Paris Masters in the round of 32 by Britain’s Cameron Norrie, has frequently sidestepped personal questions from reporters. However, in a rare admission, he revealed just how challenging it is to maintain a relationship in professional tennis.
Alcaraz Admits Dating Isn’t Easy
Speaking to The Times, Alcaraz confessed that his constant travel schedule makes finding the right partner difficult.
“No, I am single. I am looking for someone,” he said. “It can be difficult as a tennis player to meet the right person because you are travelling all the time.”
When told that he wouldn’t lack potential partners, he jokingly added, “I hope so.” Fans were quick to point out that his comments came around the same time he was frequently linked to fellow tennis star Emma Raducanu.
The Raducanu Connection
Rumors about Alcaraz and Raducanu’s relationship began after they played mixed doubles together at the US Open. Despite the gossip, both players have maintained that they share only a friendly bond.
Raducanu has previously spoken about how her parents discouraged dating during her teenage years, believing it would interfere with her training.
“My parents were very much against boyfriends because it distracted from tennis,” she once explained. “At the time, I was upset about it, but it helped me become more independent and confident.”
Although Raducanu’s strict upbringing may have eased as she’s grown older, sources suggest that Alcaraz’s attention has recently shifted elsewhere.
A New Romance?
Reports indicate that Alcaraz may now be dating Sports Illustrated model Brooks Nader, who is six years older than him. The 28-year-old was spotted at the US Open, fueling speculation that she was there to support Alcaraz rather than her rumored ex, Jannik Sinner.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, when asked about Sinner, Nader coyly replied, “I don’t think he was playing in that one. You’re close, you’re warm.”
Nader’s sister later confirmed the rumors, saying:
“The rumors are true. Dating is such a loose term, but I do know he’s the man of the hour.”
Still Just Friends
Despite the dating buzz, both Alcaraz and Raducanu have made it clear that their friendship remains purely platonic. Reflecting on their early days on the junior circuit, Raducanu said:
“We’ve known each other since we were young, and it’s nice to still have that friendship. He’s obviously gone far ahead now, but we’ve always had a good relationship.”
With Alcaraz focusing on adding more Grand Slam titles to his collection and Raducanu preparing for her own comeback season, both young stars appear more dedicated to their
careers than romance — at least for now.
