Charley Hull and Michael Brennan came painfully close to victory at the 2025 Grant Thornton Invitational, but still walked away with plenty of positives from their week in Naples, Florida. After three rounds at Tiburón Golf Club, the pair finished tied for second place, just behind champions Lauren Coughlin and Andrew Novak.
The duo even led the field after the opening round, but were unable to turn that early momentum into a tournament win. Despite missing out on the top spot, Hull made it clear that the experience was thoroughly enjoyable. Sharing moments from the event on Instagram, she posted photos alongside Brennan and described the week as “good fun all week.”
Hull wrote alongside the post that they finished T2 at the Grant Thornton Invitational and enjoyed every moment playing with Brennan.
This year marked Hull’s second appearance at the mixed-team event. She previously competed in the inaugural 2023 edition, where she partnered Justin Rose and finished tied for ninth.
Although it was Hull and Brennan’s first time teaming up, their connection on the course was evident throughout the tournament. Both players spoke highly of each other after the final round, praising the teamwork that helped them contend until the very end.
Brennan, speaking in his post-round interview, credited Hull for carrying the team when his own game wasn’t at its sharpest. He described her as a “baller” and admitted she kept them in contention almost single-handedly.
Hull returned the compliment, saying she loved playing alongside Brennan and admired his game. She added that the week was one of the most enjoyable of the year, even though they narrowly missed out on victory after a late push on the final hole.
The 2025 Grant Thornton Invitational featured a total prize pool of $4 million. Hull and Brennan earned $380,000 for their runner-up finish, the second-largest payout of the event, behind the $1 million prize claimed by champions Andrew Novak and Lauren Coughlin.
