Chelsea manager Sonia Bompastor has assured fans that Matildas star Sam Kerr is in “a good place” as she recovers from a long-term ACL injury. Despite her return to training, there remains no definitive timeline for her comeback to competitive action.
Kerr, who suffered the injury during a Chelsea training camp in January 2024, has been sidelined for over a year. The 31-year-old forward is progressing well, but Bompastor emphasized the difficulty of setting a return date. Chelsea, meanwhile, continues its push for an unprecedented quadruple.
Alongside Kerr, Chelsea’s U.S. internationals Naomi Girma and Mia Fishel have also resumed training after injury layoffs. Girma, the club’s record signing, is expected to make her debut soon, while Fishel remains on the road to recovery. Chelsea remains unbeaten this season
