Eight former champions and world No. 1 Nelly Korda in 2025 U.S. Women’s Open field at Erin Hills

Eight former champions, including defending champion Yuka Saso, have been accepted into the 80th U.S. Women’s Open at Erin Hills. The tournament field will feature 156 players, with 84 already exempt from qualifying. Among them are 24 of the top 25 players in the world.

The United States Golf Association (USGA) announced that 1,904 entries were submitted for the championship, scheduled for May 29–June 1. This marks the second-highest number of entries in the event’s history, following the 2023 tournament at Pebble Beach Golf Links, which had 2,107 entries.

Defending champion Yuka Saso, who won the 2021 and 2023 Women’s Opens, leads the group of past winners. She is joined by Gee Chun (2015), Sung Hyun Park (2017), Ariya Jutanugarn (2018), Jeongeun Lee6 (2019), A Lim Kim (2020), Minjee Lee (2022), and Allisen Corpuz (2023). World No. 1 Nelly Korda also headlines the elite field, alongside No. 2 Jeeno Thitikul and No. 3 Lydia Ko.

Erin Hills, hosting its fifth USGA championship, will become the 16th course to hold both men’s and women’s U.S. Opens. It previously hosted the 2017 U.S. Open, won by Brooks Koepka. The 2025 championship will mark Wisconsin’s third Women’s Open, following Blackwolf Run’s 1998 and 2012 editions.
