Emma Raducanu has accepted a late wildcard entry to compete in the Qatar Open, aiming to end her three-match losing streak. The British No.2 recently split from coach Nick Cavaday due to his health issues and has since struggled in Singapore and Abu Dhabi.
Determined to regain her form, Raducanu has chosen to stay in the Middle East and compete in a second WTA 1000 event. While she evaluates new coaching options, she is currently working with fitness trainer Yutaka Kelecic and Dubai-based Roman Kelecic, a former coach from her early career.
Despite her recent setbacks, Raducanu is in no rush to appoint a full-time coach, emphasizing the importance of finding the right fit. She views this period as an opportunity to reassess her coaching needs, stating that she wants to carefully consider what she values in a mentor.
Meanwhile, world No.2 Iga Swiatek, who recently defeated Raducanu in Melbourne, will seek her fourth consecutive title in Doha. Raducanu’s decision to compete in Qatar signals her determination to regain momentum and climb back up the rankings.
