Emma Raducanu has reclaimed the British No. 1 tennis ranking after two years, surpassing Katie Boulter. Her rise follows a straight-sets win over Rebecca Sramková at the Queen’s Club Championship and Boulter’s early tournament exit.
Raducanu first reached the top in 2021 after winning the US Open. She held the British No. 1 title until June 2023. Now back on top, she also climbed to 36th in the WTA world rankings, with Boulter dropping to 39th.
Despite her rise, Raducanu won’t benefit from a Wimbledon seeding due to her recent withdrawal from Berlin and Nottingham. Back issues forced her exit from Queen’s, where she lost to Zheng Qinwen in the quarterfinals.
There’s hope she might still play in the Eastbourne Open later this month, pending recovery. The event could serve as her final preparation before Wimbledon, where she aims to make a strong return despite recent setbacks.
