British tennis star Emma Raducanu was spotted enjoying a relaxed evening out with friends in Mayfair, London, just days after announcing she’s fit and ready to return to competitive action.
The 22-year-old athlete was photographed leaving Gaia restaurant, looking effortlessly stylish in white straight-cut trousers paired with a matching shirt, a sleek black jacket, and maroon loafers. She kept her makeup minimal, wearing her long dark hair loose and natural as she smiled throughout the night.
Her outing comes shortly after she confirmed plans to compete in the Billie Jean King Cup in France next week, marking her first appearance on court since withdrawing from the Miami Open due to a back injury.
Speaking about her recent withdrawal, Raducanu explained, “I’ve been experiencing lower back pain, and at this stage of my return, I don’t want to risk anything. I tried my best to be ready, and I’m sad to be pulling out of Miami, but I wish the event all the best.”
The young Brit first captured global attention when she reached the fourth round of Wimbledon at just 18, before making history in 2021 as the first qualifier ever to win a Grand Slam title — defeating Leylah Fernandez to claim the US Open crown.
Since that historic win, Raducanu has faced multiple injury setbacks and undergone both wrist and ankle surgeries, forcing her to miss much of the previous season. Despite those challenges, she began this year on a promising note, advancing to the third round at Indian Wells before being stopped by Aryna Sabalenka.
Her return to form has raised hopes among fans, especially after reports confirmed she’s been training on clay courts at the National Tennis Centre in preparation for Great Britain’s Billie Jean King Cup tie against France on April 12–13 near Boulogne.
Off the court, Emma has also been enjoying her social life recently attending a private birthday celebration for her close friend Simone Ashley, known for her roles in Bridgerton and Sex Education.
After a tough run of injuries and coaching changes — nine in total since her US Open triumph — Raducanu now appears more focused and optimistic than ever as she prepares to step back into the spotlight and reignite her promising career.
