Justin Thomas was full of praise for Ohio State football coach Ryan Day during their round at the Memorial Tournament Pro-Am. Playing together for the first time, Thomas admired Day’s composure and shot-making ability throughout the event.
Speaking at a pre-tournament press conference, Thomas noted Day’s nerves but emphasized how impressed he was with the coach’s performance. Despite admitting some inconsistent shots, Thomas believes Day has strong potential on the course.

“He really could be a solid player,” Thomas remarked, adding that Day’s accuracy on key shots showed natural ability. The golfer highlighted Day’s competitive spirit as a major strength.
Thomas begins his Memorial Tournament campaign on Thursday, teeing off alongside Patrick Cantlay at 1:20 p.m. Top names like Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth, and Rory McIlroy are also part of the 72-player field.
