“I Would Have Hit You” – Nelly Korda Shares Lighthearted Moment with Sister Jessica at Amundi Evian Championship

Nelly Korda kicked off the 2025 Amundi Evian Championship at France’s Evian Resort Golf Club with a 4-under 67. Despite strong play, her tee shots proved erratic, nearly hitting her sister Jessica—now a broadcaster covering the event.

Jessica, currently sidelined from competition due to injury and motherhood, was stationed near Nelly’s group for live commentary. Twice during the round, she found herself dodging stray drives—once on the 14th and again on the 15th holes.

In a post-round exchange shared by the LPGA, Jessica joked about the near misses. Nelly responded with a cheeky remark, “Well, maybe you should have stayed in the fairway, and I would have hit you,” drawing laughs from viewers.

The Evian Championship marks the fourth major of the season. Korda struggled off the tee, hitting only six fairways—matching her career low in a major. Determined to improve, she headed to the range afterward to consult her coach, Jamie Mulligan.

Korda’s round featured two bogeys and six birdies, positioning her tied for seventh, two strokes off the lead. Minjee Lee sits in solo sixth at 5-under. Despite the shaky start, Nelly remains in strong contention for the title.

In 2025, Nelly Korda has impressed with 10 starts, including top finishes in all majors. She placed second at the U.S. Women’s Open and has earned over $1.78 million so far this season, further cementing her dominance on the LPGA Tour.
