Paige Spiranac once opened up about her first encounter with Tiger Woods in a throwback video shared by Sports Illustrated seven months ago. Speaking on Radio Row with host Claudette Montana, she discussed her new YouTube channel, her dream golf foursome, and other golf-related topics.
When asked which golfers she would most like to play with, Spiranac picked Tiger Woods from the PGA Tour and Phil Mickelson from LIV Golf. She fondly recalled a chipping lesson with Woods, saying the first thing she noticed was how good he smelled. Calling the experience “the greatest of her life,” she admitted it left a lasting impression.
In 2025, she further reflected on that chipping session in an interview with Newsweek. Spiranac described how Woods taught her a low, spinning shot with a 54-degree wedge, demonstrating perfect technique that amazed her.
Since stepping away from professional golf in 2016, Spiranac has become a popular content creator, even competing in the Creator Classic alongside Tyler Toney and Matt Scharff. She also frequently shares her views on golf’s big events. Ahead of the Ryder Cup, she voiced her belief that Keegan Bradley should have been part of the U.S. team rather than serving as captain, suggesting he still has plenty of years ahead to take on that role.
The U.S. Ryder Cup team this year features Sam Burns, Scottie Scheffler, Bryson DeChambeau, Harris English, Xander Schauffele, Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Ben Griffin, Russell Henley, J.J. Spaun, Patrick Cantlay, and Cameron Young. The event runs from September 26 to 28, with Team USA looking to reclaim the trophy after Europe’s victory last year.
