Jordan Spieth Announces Big Family News After A Tough Week

Some milestones completely transform a person’s life, and for golf star Jordan Spieth, becoming a father has been one of those defining experiences. The three-time major champion has often called fatherhood *“the most rewarding job there is.”

In September 2024, while still recovering from wrist surgery, Spieth appeared at Brookhaven Country Club near his hometown of Dallas. Reflecting on life away from competition, the 30-year-old opened up about how much joy he’s found in being a dad.

“I’m loving being a dad. It’s cool to have this time during the day with my kids too,” he shared. “I can do half of what I normally do, but I like to think of myself as a very active dad. I’ve always been really involved, and my family has traveled with me almost every week on the road.”

Clearly, fatherhood has taken center stage in Spieth’s life.

A Growing Family

Jordan met his wife Annie Verret back in high school. The couple tied the knot in 2018 and welcomed their first child, Sammy, on November 14, 2021. Sammy made his adorable debut on the golf course just five months later at the Masters. The little one has since become a familiar face at tournaments — including a heartwarming moment at the 2024 U.S. Open when Spieth stopped mid-round to check on him and Annie.

Two years later, on September 12, 2023, the couple welcomed their daughter Sophie. And now, the Spieth family is set to grow again — as Jordan and Annie are expecting their third child in July 2025.

The golfer shared the exciting update during an appearance on The Smylie Show, revealing how lively family life has become.

“We have a third coming in July, so it’s busy,” he said. “My son turned three in November, and we had a big monster truck-themed party for him. My daughter turned one in September, right after I got home from my surgery in Colorado.”

Battling Through Injury

While family life is thriving, Spieth’s health has presented ongoing challenges. The golfer has been struggling with a nagging wrist injury that required surgery in 2024. Though he’s back competing, the issue continues to trouble him.

Spieth returned at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, finishing 69th, but regained form the following week with a T4 finish at the Phoenix Open. Yet even then, his wrist wasn’t fully cooperating.

“I was in a bunker on Spyglass No. 1 and jammed it pretty good. It locked up on me for a while,” he explained after his first round in Arizona.

The Genesis Invitational a week later proved difficult as the pain flared up again.

“It’s been a tough week on the wrist,” Spieth admitted after missing the cut at Torrey Pines. “This cold, wet weather and playing three weeks in a row hasn’t helped.”

It’s been nearly three years since Spieth last claimed a PGA Tour victory, but with renewed motivation — and a third child on the way — the Texan seems more determined than ever to rediscover his best form.

As he continues to balance fatherhood and professional golf, one thing is certain: Jordan Spieth’s journey is as heartfelt as it is inspiring.
