Jordan Spieth drops major update on Valero Texas Open participation after The Players 2025 fail

Jordan Spieth has officially confirmed his participation in the 2025 Valero Texas Open following a disappointing 59th-place finish at The Players Championship. The three-time major winner, still working his way back from injury, aims to regain form at TPC San Antonio. His announcement has generated excitement among fans, especially as he returns to a tournament he previously won in 2021.

Spieth, a Texas native, will tee off at the Oaks Course on April 3, hoping to build momentum ahead of the Masters. With eight previous starts at the event, including a 2021 victory and a runner-up finish in 2015, he remains a strong contender. His recent performance has been inconsistent, with a T4 finish at the WM Phoenix Open but struggles elsewhere, including a missed cut at The Genesis Invitational.

The Valero Texas Open will feature a competitive field, including Collin Morikawa, Ludvig Åberg, Hideki Matsuyama, and Patrick Cantlay. Reigning champion Akshay Bhatia will also return to defend his title. Notably, former U.S. Open and FedExCup champion Justin Rose will make his first appearance at the event since 2006. Players have until March 29 to confirm their participation.
