Justin Thomas reunited with Collin Morikawa at the PGA Championship, bringing caddie Joe Greiner back into the picture just weeks after their RBC Heritage win. Greiner, now with Morikawa, parted ways with Thomas amid Minister’s return.
The grouping created an uncomfortable moment, given Greiner’s brief success with Thomas. Minister, now healthy, resumed his duties, confirming he was “feeling much better” after missing the RBC Heritage with a back injury.
Thomas battled through an erratic opening round, finishing +2 after a shaky front-nine and a stronger back-nine. Morikawa, now working with Greiner, ended Day 1 under par and looked sharp on Day 2.
