Lexi Thompson relief Provost of caddie position, appoints new full-time caddie after year-end flourish

Lexi Thompson has appointed Colton Heisey as her full-time caddie for 2024 after a strong finish to the 2023 season. Thompson, who struggled in the first half of last year, regained her form in the fall, securing three consecutive top-10 finishes.

Her resurgence included an impressive performance at the U.S. Solheim Cup, a near-cut at the PGA Tour’s Shriners Children’s Open, and a T6 finish at the Grant Thornton Invitational with Rickie Fowler. Heisey was on her bag for these events, prompting her decision to make the partnership permanent.

Heisey, who previously caddied for PGA Tour rookie Brandon Matthews, expressed excitement about the opportunity. “I’m super grateful to work with one of the best,” he shared on social media. Thompson’s move marks a shift from her usual reliance on family members as caddies.

Throughout her career, Thompson has worked with her father and brothers on the bag. Heisey becomes only the fourth non-family caddie in her career. With their successful late-season chemistry, Thompson and Heisey aim to carry their momentum into the 2024 LPGA Tour season.
