Leylah Fernandez can’t stop smiling as she shows off her dance moves with hitting partner

Leylah Fernandez recently showcased her dancing skills alongside her hitting partner in a lighthearted moment. Both were all smiles throughout the performance, but it was her partner who stole the spotlight with a smooth rendition of the wave, delighting fans on social media.

On February 15, the former WTA No. 13 shared a video on Instagram of their synchronized dance to an upbeat disco tune. Clad in training gear, the duo effortlessly grooved, with Fernandez humorously captioning the post: “Who knew my hitting partner could do the wave like that?” Fans quickly embraced the heartwarming clip.

Fernandez, currently ranked No. 27 in singles and No. 31 in doubles, has won three WTA singles titles since turning pro in 2018. She reached the 2021 US Open final but fell to Emma Raducanu. In 2023, she also made the French Open doubles final with Taylor Townsend, continuing her strong presence on the tour.

In a recent WTA Tour interview, the Canadian admitted to getting bored due to her extensive experience on the circuit. This boredom, she explained, often leads to playful antics, but she appreciates her team’s patience. Fernandez is set to compete next at the 2025 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships against Elise Mertens.
