Lindsey Vonn is celebrating her hard work at the gym by confidently showing off the results.
The 40-year-old former Olympic skier shared a series of photos on Instagram while vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, where she posed in a vibrant yellow bikini that highlighted her defined abs. Pairing the look with oversized sunglasses, she struck poses against the stunning coastline with friends nearby.
Alongside the post, Vonn wrote: “You can judge me if you want, but I’ve been working hard in the gym and taking care of me… so I’m going to post some bikini pics because I’m proud of myself. ❤️ #beyourself.”
Vonn has been candid about her struggles with body image, especially the criticism she faced during her skiing career when some said her athletic frame was “too muscular.” In past interviews, she admitted that such remarks sometimes left her feeling insecure.
In October, she opened up on Instagram about the hurtful side of body-shaming, admitting that even as an athlete she sometimes felt vulnerable posting swimsuit photos. “I’m a normal person—sometimes I slouch, my stomach folds over, or my cellulite shows,” she wrote. “But I always remind myself of everything my body has allowed me to accomplish.”
The Minnesota native also revealed that pressure to slim down for red-carpet appearances once cost her valuable ski wins, saying she sacrificed performance by trying to fit unrealistic beauty standards. However, she now embraces strength over size zero expectations.
Speaking to People, Vonn said the pandemic helped her finally find confidence: “It taught me to love myself. Who cares if you have cellulite or wrinkles? You don’t need extensions or injections—just be yourself. My dogs love me no matter what, and that’s how we should treat each other.”
Now, with a stronger sense of self, Vonn is unapologetic about celebrating her body. “I’ve developed thicker skin. I couldn’t ignore the haters until I learned to love myself. Now, I stand tall and I’m unapologetically me.”
