Lindsey Vonn sets astonishing record on her first podium since coming out of retirement

Lindsey Vonn made a triumphant return to professional skiing with a second-place finish in the Super-G at the Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Cup finals in Sun Valley. At 40, she’s now the oldest woman to podium in a World Cup event.

Her achievement marks her first medal since retiring in 2019 due to a severe knee injury. An emotional Vonn celebrated with a silver medal, later calling the moment deeply meaningful in a heartfelt Instagram post.

Following a successful knee surgery, Vonn resumed training and returned in late 2024. While eyeing the 2026 Olympics, she remains focused, stating her love for Cortina but acknowledging the road ahead.
