Lindsey Vonn stuns in glamorous photoshoot as USA star opens up on her return to skiing and latest win

Lindsey Vonn has once again captured attention, this time away from the slopes, after starring in a striking photoshoot for a new sports and fashion magazine.

The American skiing icon appears in PLAYERS’ second issue, showcasing a bold, dark-themed look and even stepping out in a dramatic oversized beige fur coat for several shots.

The glamorous images come alongside an open and reflective interview in which Vonn spoke candidly about her remarkable return to competitive skiing. After stepping away from the sport in 2019, she made an unexpected comeback in 2024 at the age of 40 — and quickly proved she still belongs among the world’s best.

Last season, Vonn delivered an impressive performance by finishing second in the super-G at a World Cup event, marking her first podium appearance since March 2018. The result also made her the oldest female Alpine skier to reach a World Cup podium, breaking the previous record by nearly six years.

Looking back on the moment, Vonn admitted the result meant far more than just a medal. She described it as personal validation, saying it showed her that trusting herself and committing to the comeback had truly paid off.
Vonn’s career is already packed with historic achievements.

She won Olympic gold in downhill skiing at the 2010 Vancouver Games, alongside a bronze in the super-G, and later added another Olympic bronze in downhill at the 2018 Winter Games. Across world championships, she has collected eight medals, including two golds.

Now focused on the future, Vonn has her sights firmly set on the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina. She insists her daily routine is centered around intense training and fitness, with one clear goal: arriving at the Games in peak physical condition.

Away from competition, Vonn also shared a deeply emotional chapter from earlier this year. In March, she lost her beloved dog Lucy, a nine-year-old Cavalier King Charles spaniel who had been her constant travel companion. Vonn revealed Lucy had been suffering from kidney failure and that the prognosis was poor before she rushed home to Utah to be with her.

Days later, she announced Lucy’s passing in a heartfelt Instagram post, reflecting on the adventures they shared together — from traveling the world and exploring the outdoors to attending the Olympics. Vonn described Lucy as fearless, endlessly loving, and irreplaceable, admitting her heart will never be the same without her.

Even amid personal loss, Lindsey Vonn continues to balance resilience, style, and elite performance — proving once again why she remains one of the most compelling figures in sport.
