Earlier this week, Lindsey Vonn made history by becoming the first woman to ski the legendary Streif downhill course in Kitzbühel, Austria.
Not only did she take on one of the world’s toughest tracks, but she also became the first to do it at night. After the run, Vonn expressed her gratitude to former World Champion Daron Rahlves, who mentored her throughout the process.
Rahlves, who claimed victory on the Streif in 2003, remains the only American ever to win the race. His experience and support were key in helping Vonn prepare for the challenge.
Vonn shared an Instagram video honoring Rahlves’ role in her achievement, highlighting the importance of athletes supporting each other across genders.
Big congratulations to Vonn for her groundbreaking performance, and to Rahlves for continuing to inspire the skiing world.
