Charley Hull, currently ranked No. 14 in the world, is making headlines beyond the fairway at the Black Desert Championship in Utah. The English golfer is competing in a stacked field featuring 17 of the top 25 players.
Off the course, Hull has revealed she quit smoking—a habit that went viral in 2024 when she was filmed puffing a cigarette while signing autographs. In 2025, she bet a friend £10,000 she could quit, and she’s sticking to it.
Hull told Golfweek the transition was surprisingly easy, crediting her strong mindset and discipline. She now occasionally uses nicotine pouches but often forgets them, focusing instead on fitness and mental strength.
Despite her lifestyle change, Hull trails in the $3 million Black Desert Championship. With tough competition from leaders like Ryu Hae-ran and Somi Lee, she hopes to gain ground in the final rounds.
