Maria Sharapova reveals how her sleep schedule has changed since welcoming her son

Maria Sharapova, 37, shared how motherhood has reshaped her sleep habits during a Hästens panel in Manhattan. The retired tennis star admitted she now functions on less sleep since welcoming her son, Theodore, in July 2022.

Partnering with Hästens, Sharapova launched the Sleep to Perform program, gifting high-end mattresses to talent across industries. The goal is to help creatives—from chefs to athletes—achieve peak performance through quality rest.

Sharapova recalled buying her first Hästens mattress in 2004 and still swears by it. She noted how her view of performance has shifted—from athletic pressure to being fully present as a mom and entrepreneur.

She also emphasized the importance of sleep consistency. While she once relied on rest for competitive advantage, she now sees short naps as essential—even in business—while promoting better sleep habits and awareness.
