Jordan Spieth’s emotions flared during Friday’s second round at the Masters as he fought to make the cut. His frustration peaked on the 18th hole, where cameras captured him swearing and venting to his longtime caddie, Michael Greller.
A wayward drive that clipped a tree left Spieth with 213 yards to the green and a blocked view. Overwhelmed, he told Greller, “I’m so frustrated,” during a hot mic moment broadcast to viewers worldwide.
Greller didn’t indulge the negativity. “Alright, well get over it,” he snapped back, urging Spieth to reset. Spieth, still agitated, fired back with an expletive, underscoring the high stakes and pressure at Augusta.
Despite the drama, Spieth managed a bogey five to close his round with a one-over 73. That was just enough to slip past the two-over cut line, keeping his Masters hopes alive heading into the weekend.
