Nelly Korda Explains Why Her Ribs Feel Sore in the Morning
American golf star Nelly Korda reflected on her performance at the 2025 CPKC Women’s Open and gave fans a lighthearted glimpse into her struggles on the course.
Korda, who tied for 10th place at the tournament, shared a photo on Instagram of herself mid-swing in a maroon long-sleeve polo and black pants. In the caption, she joked about the toll her swing takes on her body:
“Some mornings I wake up wondering why my ribs hurt—then I see a picture like this,” she wrote.
The 26-year-old also posted a series of photos from the Canadian event, thanking her supporters with a short and sweet caption: “Thank you 🇨🇦.” The tournament, held in Mississauga, Ontario, was won by Brooke Henderson, who edged out the field with a one-stroke victory.
Korda’s week included rounds of 69, 69, 72, and 68, finishing tied for 10th alongside Minami Katsu, Sei Young Kim, Patty Tavatanakit, and Jenny Bae.
Beyond her own tournament, Korda also celebrated Tommy Fleetwood’s milestone PGA Tour win at the Tour Championship. She reposted the PGA Tour’s announcement on Instagram, adding a teary-eyed emoji and a heart to show her support. Fleetwood had sealed the win with a final-round 67, pulling ahead of Patrick Cantlay and Russell Henley.
So far this season, Korda has competed in 14 LPGA Tour events but is still chasing her first victory of 2025. She’s come close, finishing runner-up at both the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions and the U.S. Women’s Open, along with several top-20 finishes, including T5 at the Mizuho Americas Open and T7 at the Founders Cup.
