Nike has made history by releasing the first-ever Player Edition Mercurial Superfly for Sam Kerr. This isn’t just another boot—it’s the brand’s first women’s signature football boot in more than two decades, and it perfectly embodies Kerr’s fearless style, Australian heritage, and superstar presence.
The Chelsea and Matildas striker now has her name stamped on her own boot, a bold design that mirrors her speed, ambition, and goal-scoring instincts. The launch comes right as Kerr heads into another promising season.

Sam’s custom Mercurial reflects her 11 years in the game. The sand-toned base pays homage to the beaches of her hometown, Perth, while streaks of teal, pink, and orange represent Western Australia’s ocean, sunsets, and rugged landscapes. Etched across the upper are personal mantras—“Consistent,” “Forever Forward,” and “Perth Swagger”—tattoo-like reminders of her mindset and roots.
One standout detail is a stripe running down the toe, inspired by Olympic legend Cathy Freeman’s iconic 2000 Sydney win in Nike’s full bodysuit. At the top, Kerr’s number “20” is marked in Roman numerals, blending Australia’s sporting past and future.
The boot also highlights key years in Kerr’s career—2009 (her Matildas debut), 2017 (her NWSL Golden Boot season), and 2020 (when she left her mark on Chelsea). Inside, the sockliner carries motivational messages: one foot reads “Be who I am” and the other “Be who you are”, encouraging the next generation of players. Her signature seals the design on the heel.
Nike has paired the launch with a full lifestyle and performance collection, including sneakers, hoodies, and training gear. Fans will be able to grab the Sam Kerr Mercurials starting September 2 at prodirectsport.com/soccer.
