Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark teamed up with former world No. 1 golfer Nelly Korda during Wednesday’s Annika Pro-Am, and the two quickly found themselves talking football. But Clark wasn’t ready for what she heard when she asked Korda which NFL team she supports.
Despite being a Florida native, Korda proudly declared she’s a Green Bay Packers fan. Clark, a diehard Kansas City Chiefs loyalist, couldn’t hide her disappointment.
“Are you a football fan?” Clark asked.
“Packer fan,” Korda answered.
“Not the Packers…” Clark responded, sounding stunned.
“What about you?” Korda shot back.
“A Chiefs fan. I’m a huge Chiefs fan,” Clark said.
Clark’s love for the Chiefs goes way back. She grew up in a household that worshipped the team — her dad, brother, and even cousins in Kansas City were all fans. During her 2023 appearance on the “Manningcast,” she talked about how deeply it was ingrained in her childhood.
“I’ve been a Chiefs fan since I was a young girl… In our basement, we had a Chiefs vending machine and those toy Chiefs helmets we’d wear while running around the yard,” she recalled.
She’s also spoken about her fandom on the “New Heights” podcast, hosted by none other than Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, appearing on the show’s January 2 episode.

### **What Nelly Korda Says About Teaming Up With Caitlin Clark**
This wasn’t Clark and Korda’s first time as partners — they were also paired at the LPGA Pro-Am in November 2024. Their latest reunion on the course felt even more natural.
“I think she was more comfortable this time,” Korda said. “We knew each other better, so chatting felt easier. The crowd turnout was about the same as last year, which was really cool.”
Their friendship continues to grow through golf, and Korda even gifted Clark a brand-new pair of her Nike Free Golf shoes before the event — a model set to hit shelves in late November.
