Paige Spiranac at Risk of Losing New Job as PGA Tour Cracks Down, Per Reports

As the PGA Tour playoffs enter their second stage, questions are being raised about whether the format still carries the excitement its name suggests. Despite huge sums of money on the line—Scottie Scheffler has already pocketed $20 million, Rory McIlroy sits at $16 million, and J.J. Spaun at $12 million—the buzz has been muted. Even Tom Hoge, ranked 30th, has taken home $4 million. With such massive payouts already earned, the $10 million first prize doesn’t seem to generate the same thrill.

While $100 million is up for grabs overall, many insiders argue the FedEx Cup title no longer holds deeper meaning. According to the Fore Play Podcast Plus, even content creators like Paige Spiranac could see their roles threatened under the current system. Co-host Frankie voiced his frustration with the playoff format, saying: “I don’t know why the points from the regular season carry over into the playoffs.” He suggested that the postseason should stand alone—no carryover points, only performance in each round determining advancement.

The debate highlights ongoing concerns about how the Tour engages both players and fans. Frankie even hinted at confusion surrounding the Creator Council, created in 2024 to bridge that gap. “I don’t even know if we’re in the council anymore… people are getting fired from the council,” he remarked, pointing to the uncertainty among members.

The Creator Council originally brought in popular golf influencers such as Bob Does Sports, Bryan Bros Golf, Paige Spiranac, and Roger Steele. Although the Tour has not officially removed anyone, it has shown it won’t hesitate to distance itself from partners linked to rival league LIV Golf. For now, Spiranac and others may find their future roles under the Tour less secure than expected.
